"The World is Brighter on the Seni Side"
Within the vast archipelago of Indonesia's 13,650 islands the Hindu enclave of Bali is a unique destination for spiritually motivated travelers and art lovers.
The Balinese have great respect for the mystics and artists living in their midst, with ancient Hindu beliefs and esthetic lifestyles amazingly able to remain culturally intact despite millions of foreign visitors & modern influences.
"Seni" means creative art and even though artisans may not be wealthy, the Balinese also tolerate their artist's eccentricities, giving them deference and freedom to create. Vincent Van Gough may have found a more congenial workplace in Bali.
Balinese artisans are fortunate to have a lively tourism industry capable of supporting their handicraft industry as well as their fine arts such as sculpture, fashion design and painting.
Because the organizers of Seni Side have birth and childhood roots in Bali, Seni Side pledges to use one-third of its' sales income to support new artists, foster original inspirations, and assist with the costs of training apprentices in Bali for more long term integrity.
Proceeds from Seni Side's sales will also be re-invested into environmental causes key to Indonesia's self sufficiency, such as sustaining national parks & ecosystems, and conserving forests in mountainous watersheds above farmer's rice paddy fields.
Currently we are an online based company from Raleigh NC, with enough support we are looking to have a storefront within the next year.
Thank you for your support of Seni Side's commitment to artists and their families.
